WORLD AIDS DAY 2006

I would like to talk about the AIDS because today is world AIDS day.

I 'm interested in this disease and I always like to know more about it. I will write an explanation about AIDS because for me I the communication and the work together are so important to help reduce the numbers of people becoming infected across the world.

The word AIDS means ADQUIRED IMNUNE DEFICIENCY SINDROME and It is a disease caused by virus infection, the HIV (virus) destroys our body's imnune system, the body then loses the resistence against virus leaving us vulnerable to all kind of infections disease and probably cancer.
Sometimes the symptoms are similar to the common cold a few weeks from time of infection. It take 10 years for the disease to break out. this is when immunity decrease producing different symptoms like hig fever, weight, loss of appetite...

On the other hand, it is more important to know how it can be transmitted because there are people who think that the HIV can be trasmitted throgh the air but this is not possible.
You can infected with the AIDS virus throught: sex without condom, mother to child (Breastfeeding ); sharing hypodermic needles.
And you can't get AIDS in these ways: a light kiss, shaking hands, cought, mosquito or pets, food or drinks, swimming-pool or public baths...with this explanation I can say that there are more things you can do than things which you can't do, so the key for this is :to know these factors as not to discriminate against the AIDS infected people.

I found a Bono's message where he talks about there are thousand millions people who are infected with the AIDS and they need AIDS pills to feel better with this disease.

I start my blog with one topic: Stereotypes.

I have been living in Catalonia since I was born and It's for this that I would like to speak about the CAtalans.
The Catalan people are very commented by the rest of Spanish people, thanks to this I can do a little description about the belief about the Catalans. the stereotypes of CAtalan people say we are very very very mean so we don't like spending a lot of money on clothes, in restaurant, cars, buildings, all in general and It makes many jokes about the Catalans are mean. they also say the Catalans are closed in relationships with all of the others comunities because when the " andaluces", " madrileños"... come here they can't understand nothing because everything is written in Catalan like indications, directions, names of the streets...
I've never believed this comments about the Catalan people because they aren't true, I am of the view that the stereotypes of the people from other countries usually are very exaggerated and negative. the people who create all this don't belong in that community or nation or city and It is very easy to describe or scorn anybody else.. ha-ha. do you agre with me?
In my point of view the Catalans like going out, going shopping and spend a good time with our friends and family like the everybody or more!! I suport my country but all the countries are the same for me with their special features.
